Women's Cross Country to compete at Vermont State Meet

(Poultney, VT) - The Green Mountain College Women's Cross Country team is having a solid year and look to continue that on October 1st when they travel to St. Michael's College for the Vermont State Meet at 10am.

In three races thus they have finished 1st at Vermont Tech, 10th at Bard, and 4th at Southern Vermont College. In the race on September 24th at SVC the Eagles were led by freshman Peyton Jones who finished 17th with a time of 25.31.9. Close behind her was Junior Whitney Rose who cracked the top 25 with a time of 26:31, good for 24th place. The Eagles also had the second best split time between their top 5 runners of all the teams competing.

This year the Vermont State meet has ten participants. Joining the Eagles are Saint Michael's College (host), Middlebury College (last year's host and winner), Castleton State College, Johnson State College, Lyndon State College, Norwich University, the College of Saint Joseph's, Southern Vermont College, and Vermont Technical College.
