(September 17, 2009) - Poultney, VT - The GMC women's volleyball team beat the visiting Huskies from Word of Life Bible Institute in straights sets (25-11, 25-10, 25-10) Thursday afternoon in a non-conference match.  With the win, the Eagles improve to 3-5 on the season.

GMC jumped out to an early 12-3 lead in the opening set and never looked back.  Senior Emma Buckley (Lakeville, CT) and junior Olesea Cojohari (Balti, Moldova) spurred the Eagles on, accounting for 10 of their first 15 service points. 

Cojohari finished the day with a team-leading 15 kills along with 10 assists.  Junior Jen McGuire (Nutley, NJ) tallied 16 assists on the day while Buckley added 11 kills and 8 digs.

As a team, GMC averaged 81% on attacks and were 27-33 on side out attempts.

The Eagles return to action Saturday, September 19^th when they travel to Husson for their North Atlantic Conference opener.
