(October 19, 2009) - Poultney, VT - Senior Emma Buckley (Lakeville, CT) was named North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week today following her performance in two conference matches last weekend.

Buckley powered Green Mountain College to a pair of 3-0 NAC victories tallying 33 kills, 11 digs and 6 service aces. Against Lyndon St., she totaled 19 kills, 9 digs, and a pair of blocks and added 14 kills, 2 digs and 5 aces against Johnson St. College.

On the season, Emma has collected 167 kills and 159 digs to lead the 9-10 Eagles (3-4, NAC) while nabbing a team-high 27 blocks and chipping in with 31 service aces.  Conference wide, Buckley is 2nd in hitting percentag (.375), 4th in kills per game (4.44), and 3rd in with 3.79/g. 

During the Eagle's inagural season in North Atlantic Conference play (2008), Buckley was a 1st Team All-Conference honoree helping the squad to a 16-5 overall record and berth in the semifinals of the conference tournament. 

The Eagle's square-off against Castleton on Thursday, October 22nd in the final regular season match of the season.  GMC is currently 5th in the conference standings, ensuring a place in the upcoming conference tournament.
