Brinley-Buckley Named to NAC 1st Team
(November 3, 2009) Poultney, VT Senior middle-hitter Emma Brinley Buckley (Lakeville, CT) was named to the North Atlantic Conference womens volleyball 1st team Tuesday morning. Buckley, who was a 1st team all-conference honoree in 2008, was joined on the first team by Castletons Jamie Lemieux and Ashley Keppa, Kaitlyn McKay (Husson), Chelsea Ward (MMA), and Amy Young (MMA).

Beavers Oust GMC From NAC Tournament
(October 31st, 2009) - Farmington, ME - The fourth-seeded University of Maine at Farmington womens volleyball team moved on in the North Atlantic Conference tournament with a 3-2 first-round victory over Green Mountain College today at Dearborn Gymnasium. The Beavers (10-10) advanced to the NAC championship round Nov. 7 at Maine Maritime Academy. Farmington is scheduled to face the top-seeded Mariners (20-5) at 10 a.m. The Eagles ended their season at 10-12.

Eagles Face Beavers in NAC Tournament Action

To take on the #4 Beavers of Me.-Farmington. The match is slated for Saturday, October 31st at 11:00 am.

Eagles Split on Dig Pink Night
(October 22, 2009) Castleton, VT Green Mountain College split a pair of matches against Johnson St. and Castleton Wednesday night easily dropping JSC 3-0 and battling to a tough 3-2 defeat against the hosts in womens volleyball action. GMC finishes the regular season with a 10-11 mark (3-4, NAC).

(October 17, 2009) - Lyndon, VT - The GMC women's volleyball team cruised to a pair of 3-0 victories in North Atlantic Cinference action Saturday afternoon over the host Hornets of Lyndon State and the Johnson State Badgers. The Eagles run their record to 9-10 overal and 3-4 in conference play.

Fighting Tigers Claim 3-0 Victory
October 14, 2009) Cobleskill, NY The host Fighting Tigers beat the Eagles for the 2nd time this season 3-0. Cobleskill improves to 8-8 on the season while GMC falls to 7-10. The Fighting Tigers captured the opening set 25-23 followed by a decisive 25-16 win in the 2nd set and a tight 28-26 victory in the 3rd to decide the match.

(October 8th, 2009) Poultney, VT Green Mountain College cruised to a 3-0 victory in womens volleyball action Thursday afternoon over the visiting Huskies of Word of Life Bible Institute. The win is the 3rd straight for the Eagles who run their record to 7-9 on the season.

(October 3, 2009) Poultney, VT Junior Melanie Rodriguez (Hoboken, NJ) tallied 27 kills and 36 digs to lead the Eagles to a North Atlantic Conference split in womens volleyball action Saturday. GMC dropped their opening match to the University of Maine Farmington 3-2, but rebounded to blank Thomas College 3-0 in the nightcap. The Eagles run their record to 5-9 overall and 1-4 in NAC play.

The Spartans improve to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in NAC play while the Eagles drop to 4-8 (0-3, NAC).

(September 15, 2009) - Northfield, VT - The Norwich University volleyball team extended its win streak to eight straight matches on Tuesday evening as the Cadets defeated in-state rival Green Mountain College, 3-0, at Andrews Hall. Norwich won by game scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-23. The Eagles fall to 2-5 on the season while NU improves to 8-2.

GMC Second at SJC Autumn Classic
(September 12, 2009) Standish, ME After racing to a 2-1 lead in the championship match of the St. Joes (ME) College Autumn Classic against the host Monks Saturday afternoon, the Eagles dropped the final two sets, losing 3-2. The hosts (7-4) claimed the title while the Eagles (2-4) finished as runners-up.

The Eagles disposed of Lyndon St. in straight sets (3-0) in the first match and dropped the nightcap 3-0 to the host Monks. The Eagles enter Saturdays matchup with Me.-Machias at 2-2 on the season.

Women's Volleyball Prepares for 2009 Season
(September 1, 2009) - The Eagles volleyball team looks to continue its success this season after finishing with an overall record of 16-5 in 2008. The ladies won 51 sets while dropping only18 and made an appearance in the conference semifinals last year before bowing out to Husson University.
With no incoming freshman, the squad is set to take the floor with a solid core of returning players. Perhaps the biggest challenge for the squad will be their ability to adapt to new head coach Erin Bellomo.

Green Mountain College Names Erin Bellomo Womens Volleyball Coach
The Green Mountain College Athletic Department is happy to announce the appointment of Erin Bellomo as the new head womens volleyball coach for the Eagles.
I am so very pleased that Coach Bellomo will be joining the Eagle Athletic Family, commented GMC Athletic Director Marybeth Lennox. She brings us a tremendous level of knowledge about the game of volleyball, solid coaching experience, and a competitiveness that will help us continue to grow this program.
