WATERVILLE, Maine – The Green Mountain College women's soccer team was shutout Thomas College, 4-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Sunday afternoon at Smith Field.
The Terriers move to 3-9 (2-4 NAC) in the victory while the Eagles drop to .500 at 5-5-1 (1-4-1 NAC).
The Terriers got on the board early in the 9th minute as Jada Samuels sent a pass over to Jackie Woodward in the box. Woodward redirected the pass to an open Emily Dufour at the left post who finished for the first goal of the game.
Thomas added their second of the game as Julia Smith sent a crossing pass to Makenzie Carlow in the box as she one-touched the ball in for a 2-0 lead. Just before the break, Sam Jordan put the Terriers up by three with her first career goal as she tapped in a rebound shot from Dufour.
Woodward tallied the Terriers' fourth goal as she scooped up a loose ball in front after a crossing pass from Nikki Bradstreet in the 65th minute to finish the scoring at 4-0.
Devynn Turner earned her first collegiate win in goal for Thomas while Jessica Casey (St. Albans, Vt.) made 11 stops in goal for the Eagles.
The Eagles will travel to face Colby-Sawyer College for their next game on Saturday, October 14 at 12:30 p.m. as part of Homecoming Weekend.
