(September 19, 2009) - Poultney, VT - An early first-half goal by Green Mountain College sophomore Taylor Riso (Portland, OR) was good enough for a win over the visiting Johnson St. Badgers in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.  GMC improves to 1-3 on the season and 1-0 in the NAC while the Badgers fall to 3-2 (0-1).

In only the 8^th minute, the Eagles Brittany Roberts (Fair Haven, VT) struck a corner that landed beyond JSC keeper freshman Morgan Solomon (Cavendish, VT) to Riso who finished for the only goal of the match. 

JSC pressed throughout much of the final 45 minutes, but were unable to find an equalizer. 

GMC goalkeeper Karen Davidson (Seymour, CT) made 3 stops in preserving the clean sheet while Solomon made 9 saves on the afternoon.

The Eagles return to action Saturday, September 26^th when they host Me.-Fort Kent at noon while the Badgers return home for a 10:00 am match tomorrow against SUNY Canton.
