Albany Pharmacy 1st, Horvath Captures Individual Title

(October 17, 2009) - Poultney, VT - The Albany College of Pharmacy women's cross-country team narrowly edged Green Mountain College to win the 3rd Annual GMC Invitational Saturday morning.  ACP's team score of 36 was one better than GMC with 37.  Eagle's junior Nicole Horvath (Fort Edward, NY) captured the individual title in a time of 22:00.6. 

Johnson St. finished 3rd overall with 74 points followed by Hudson Valley CC (91 pts).  Southern Vermont College and Word of Life Bible Institute recorded incomplete scores. 

ACP nabbed 3 of the top-ten spots en route to victory with Nicole Izzo (22:20.9) leading the way in 2nd place.  Rebecca Nashett (22:25.9) followed with 3rd while Jill Cochran finished 7th, covering the 5k course in 23:33.7

Green Mountain College's Whitney Rose (Kalamazoo, MI) finished 6th for the Eagles in 23:39.8 while sophomore Bridget Combes (Londonderry, NH) captured 8th (23:50.6).  Freshmen Taylor Conley (Yorktown, VA) and Kelly Silin (York Beach, ME) took 11th and 13th, respectively. 

Next up, the Eagles head to the RPI Invitational on Saturday, October 24th before hosting the North Atlantic Conference Championship on October 27th
