Horvath Cracks Top 30, Eagles Finish 8th

(September 19, 2009) - Annondale-on-Hudson, NY - Junior Nicole Horvath (Fort Edward, NY) covered the 5k course in 23:06 to claim 29th place at the Bard College Women's Cross-Country Invitational Saturday afternoon.  The Eagles finished 8th overall in the 14 team field.

SUNY New Paltzs' Danielle Harmon claimed the individual crown, finishing in 20:14 and helping the Hawks to the team title. 

Horvath has been solid this season for GMC claiming the top team spot in 3 consecutive races.  Freshman Whitney Rose (Kalamazoo, MI) turned in her top performance of the year placing 56th overall in 24:26, narrowly edging sophomore teammate Bridget Combes (Londonderry, NH) in 61st (24:35). 

Freshmen Kelly Silin (York Beach, ME) and Taylor Conley (Yorktown, VA) rounded out the Eagles' top 4 finishing in 73rd and 74th in the 119 runner field at 25:29 and 25:32, respectively.   

GMC returns to action Saturday, September 25th when they travel to NAC rival Me.-Farmington.
