GMC Women’s soccer brings home NAC honors
Poultney, VT (11/5/08)- The women's soccer program at Green Mountain College scored big when the North Atlantic Conference released it's post-season awards. Senior's Amanda Jeffers and Monique Couture, and Freshmen Taylor Riso earned selection to the conference's first team, senior Karin Bellemare was chosen to the second team, and freshmen Karen Davidson earned honorable mention status. Riso, Jeffers, and Couture ranked 1,2,3 respectively in scoring for the Eagles for possessed the third best offensive attack in the conference, averaging 2.61 goals per contest. Bellemare and Davidson were honored for their work anchoring the Eagles defense, which allowed 2.38 goals against per outing.
In addition to the players honors, Eagles second year head coach Katherine Keogh was chosen by her peer's as the leagues Coach of the Year for guiding GMC to a 4-3 record in it's first season in the North Atlantic Conference.
