Five Women’s Lacrosse Players Honored

The North Atlantic Conference honored five Green Mountain College women’s lacrosse players for their outstanding individual achievements Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore attacker Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) and freshman midfielder Celie Dagesse (St. Petersburg, Fl) landed on the All-Conference 1st team while senior Amanda Jeffers (Homer, NY), freshman Kelsy Allan (Jupiter, FL) and sophomore Corey Gilbert (Henniker, NH) made the 2nd team.

The visiting Eagles of Husson University out shot Green Mountain College 40-15 en route to a 10-5 NAC women’s lacrosse victory Saturday afternoon. With the win, Husson (5-4, 2-2 NAC) solidifies the second seed for the upcoming NAC tournament. GMC falls to 4-5 (2-2, NAC).

The visiting Wells College Express held off a late rally by the host Eagles to claim a hard-fought 9-7 victory in women’s lacrosse action Saturday. With the loss, GMC falls to 4-4 while Wells improves to 3-5.

Jeffers Named NAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Senior attacker Amanda Jeffers (Homer, NY) was named the NAC Player of the Week for her performances in a pair of conferences games over the weekend.

Eagles Upend Terriers; Sweep Conference Weekend
The Green Mountain women’s lacrosse team scored 9 goals in each half en route to a comfortable win over NAC rivals Thomas college (18-7) Sunday. With the win, the Eagles climb to (4-3) overall and (3-1) in conference play. The Terriers fall to (0-5) on the season. Sophomore Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) continued her goal-scoring streak, netting 6 goals on the day. Senior Amanda Jeffers (Homer, NY) added 6 goals and an assist while freshman Erin Burch (Lebanon, CT) dished out 4 assists. Freshman net minder Kelsy Allan (Jupiter, FL) had another outstanding day for the Eagles, making 13 stops on 23 shots.

Sophomore Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) tallied 6 goals and an assist to help Green Mountain College defeat NAC rival U-Me. Farmington (13-5) in women’s lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

Big Second-Half Propels Cadets Over Eagles
Twelve second-half goals and a staunch defensive effort propelled the visiting Cadets of Norwich University to a (20-7) victory over the host Green Mountain College Eagles in women’s lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon. Leading (8-5) and the interval, the Cadets reeled off 5 unanswered goals in the opening 8 minutes of the second half to blow the game open. Green Mountain’s Carley Williams (Kensington, NH) drew a goal back at the 18:51 mark, but Norwich never relented, tacking on 6 more.
