Eagles get revenge on Raptors

A year ago the Eagles lost to the Raptors 79-63. In the opening of the Bard Tip-off GMC remembered that game and came out fired up to lead 29-18 at the half. With just seconds on the clock JR Katie Jablonski (West Rutland, VT) hit a three to put the Eagles up by 11 going into the half. In the second half GMC went up by as many as 18 points, before Bard came swooping back, cutting the lead to just 7. GMC answered with a run of their own to lead comfortably by 14 by the eight minute mark and never looked back.

Green Mountain placed 5 players in double figures. Leading the way for the Eagles was JR Emma Buckley (Lakeville, CT) with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks; SR Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) had 12 points and 7 rebounds; SO Molly Hopper (Governeur, NY) dropped in 11 points and pulled down 8 rebounds to go with it. In her debut FR Ashley Day (Mount Vernon, NY) scored 11 points. SR Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) chipped in 10 points and dished 8 assists.

The Eagles will play in the Championship game at 3 pm on Sunday.
