GMC Crowned Regional Champions
Poultney, VT (February 23, 2008) - In the Championship game of the women's basketball Association of Division III Independents Conference Northeast Regional Tournament, the #1 Green Mountain College Eagles hosted #2 College of Saint Elizabeth Eagles. Saint Elizabeth played in last night's semi-final round beating Southern Vermont 73-66 to get this far. Today's match up, played at Green Mountain's Eagle Dome, found the host to be too much to handle in the first half with the score 38-15 heading into the locker room.

Eagles Cruise Past WOLBI
POULTNEY, VT - GMC got off to a slow start but closed the first half on a 13-2 run to go into the locker-room up 37-22. In the second half the Eagles continued to play unselfish basketball.

GMC Edged by CSC
Castleton, VT - The Eagles started the game on a 10-2 run-knowing that sooner or later the Spartans would make a run of their own. CSC tied the game at 17-17-the lead then changed a few times before the Spartans went on top going into the half 26-24.

Eagles Outlast Hornets
Lyndonville, VT - The Eagles came out ready to play from the start-never letting Lyndon lead from the tip. GMC got up by as many as 10 points in the first half, but by halftime LSC was able to close the gap to 43-39.

GMC Cruises Past MCLA
POULTNEY, VT - In the Eagle Dome the Eagles took part in the "Think Pink" initiative to create Breast Cancer Awareness. GMC played inspired basketball from the tip off. In the first half the game was back and forth until GMC went to the locker room up 36-23. Shooting an amazing 59.3 %.

GMC Trips Up So. VT
BENNINGTON, VT - This was a rematch of the second game of the season for the Mountaineers and the Eagles. This time however, SVC had all their big guns-the first time they played with five, and were missing two of their three best. SVC had a packed gymnasium ready to see another win. Many times throughout the game it looked like this just might happen. The Eagles on the otherhand had a different idea.

Panthers Edge Eagles
POULTNEY, VT - The Green Mountain Eagles played host to Albany Pharmacy Panthers in a duel of identical records (12-5). The Panthers started fast and found themselves up 14-6 midway through the first before Green Mountain stepped on the gas sending the game into the locker room tied at 27.

Tough D The Key Against Lyndon
POULTNEY, VT - The only time the Eagles trailed in the game was at 5-4 in the first 5 minutes of the game. After that it was all GMC. The Eagles used tough defense to go into halftime with a 28-13 lead.

Eagles Soar Over Pilgrims
HENNIKER, NH - In the first five minutes the lead was back and forth, until GMC pulled ahead using a 14-3 run to take the lead 24-15. NEC cut the lead to 4 points, before GMC led 37-29 at intermission.

GMC Drops Tough One to Skidmore
POULTNEY, VT - The first half was a back and forth contest as both teams faced a cold shooting start. The Eagles were able to pull ahead 11-5 in the beginning, then the Thorougbreds marched right back. The score was tied 17-17, before Skidmore went on a 7-1 run to finish the half.

GMC Brings "W" Home v. Bay Path
LONGMEADOW, MA - Junior forward, Christina Chamberlain (Woodstock, VT) had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Green Mountain College to a 62-43 win over Bay Path College on Thursday evening. Senior guard, Laila Falkenberg (Springfield, MA) had a game high 12 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Wildcats.

GMC Beats Mitchell
NEW LONDON, CT - In the first half the Eagles got up by as much as 10 but the Pequots stormed right back and went ahead. The lead changed a few times, before GMC went up right before the half 39-34 - missing a shot at the buzzer.

Eagles Top Nighthawks
BROOKLINE, MA - In the first half the game was back and forth as both teams took turns leading. Newbury led 33-29 at the half. In the second half, Newbury led for a majority of it. GMC would go on little runs to cut into the lead-the biggest lead being 9 points, but every time Newbury would respond with a mini run of their own. With about 5 minutes to go the Eagles took the lead for good. GMC was able to add some full court pressure and convert on some easy fastbreaks to take the game over as well as covert free throws down the stretch.

POULTNEY, VT - GMC started the game on a 6-0, the Amcats were able to come back and lead 12-10 for their only lead of the game. The Eagles were able to control the pace of the game from start to finish. GMC led 39-25 at the half.

Eagles Nipped by Badgers
JOHNSON, VT - It was the first game since December for both teams, but both teams seemed to pick up right where they left off last semester. All the stat categories were pretty even and the largest lead of the game was eight by the Badgers-which the Eagles were able to cut into it quickly.

Eagles Win on the Road v. Becker
LEICESTER, MA - Becker started the game on an 8-0 run. GMC answered with a 20-0 run, to take the lead 20-8, before Becker hit a three to stop it. The Eagles were able to maintain that lead for the rest of the first half and led 33-32 at the half.

GMC's Work Ethic Not Enough in Loss to Middlebury
POULTNEY, VT - Middlebury jumped out to a quick lead and GMC could never recover. Middlebury led 41-21 at the half. In the second half the Eagles were able to hang with them, as the score was much closer 27-24.

Eagles Win Fourth Straight v. PSC
PAUL SMITH'S, NY - GMC never trailed in this one as they started the game on a 6-0 run. At the half they led 26-17. In the second half the Ealges blew it open, holding Paul Smith's to 2 points in the first eight minutes en route to a 59-28 victory.

Eagles Edge Monks to Win Tourney
STANDISH, ME - The last game of the Merry Monk Classic featured the Green Mountain College Eagles and host Saint Joseph's College. The Eagles ended the back and forth battle on top, 51-48. Both teams won their opening games on Friday night in the classic format, with Green Mountain topping UMPI, 49-47, and St. Joes besting the College of St. Joseph, 66-60.

GMC Wins Nightcap in Dramatic Fashion v. UMPI
STANDISH, ME - The Green Mountain College (VT) Eagles played the Maine-Presque Isle Owls in the second game of the Merry Monk Classic, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and came out victorious, 49-47 on a jump shot by FY Millicent Hopper with three seconds left in the game.

Eagles Outpace Badgers
POULTNEY, VT - Although the Eagles started the game with intensity on defense the offense was a little slow coming along. JR Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) kept the Eagles in it by scoring 8 of her 12 points in the half and was the only one in green and gold that was able to finish consistently. GMC found themselves trailing 20-19 at the half, even with Chamberlin's efforts.

GMC Drops to Bard
ANNANDALE, NY - GMC played Bard tough in the first half-as the game was back and forth for the first 20 minutes. At the half the Eagles trailed, 33-30. GMC had a slow start to the second half for the first 6-7 minutes and found themselves down by 20 points before they knew it.

Eagles Nab 3rd at Utica v. SVC
UTICA, NY - Lady Eagles top Southern VT in Consolation game earning 3rd place in opening season Tournament.
GMC was leading 21-16, after FR Olesea Cojohari (Balti, Moldova) hit a shot at the buzzer to end the half. The Eagles then came out in the second half and outsored SVC 35-18.

GMC Drops Opener to SUNYIT
Utica, NY - The Eagles started out slow in their first game, trailing 43-15 at the half. In the second half they came out with a lot more energy and played even with SUNY IT (36-28), but the first half hole was too much to come back from.
