GMC sweeps Johnson St

Game 1
GMC 13 vs. JSC 2
GMC scored in every inning except the second, while holding Johnson scoreless after the first inning to end the first game of the doubleheader in five innings.
GMC got on the scoreboard early scoring 3 in the first inning and didn't look back. Offensively the Eagles were led by JR Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) with 3 hits. JR Katie Jablonski (West Rutland, VT) and FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ) added 2 hits apiece; Malkin had 5 RBI's on a single and a triple.
Holden led the way on the mound, allowing 5 hits, 6 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Game 2: GMC 21 vs. JSC 13
In the Nightcap the Eagles combined for 27 hits to defeat the Badgers. GMC scored 7 runs in the first inning on 6 hits, including a double by JR Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) and a 3 run homer by FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ). The Eagles added 4 more runs on 4 hits, including a double by Malkin which brought in 3 in the third. Johnson then answered in the bottom of the third when they scored 8 runs to trail 11-8. The rest of the game was hits and runs for both teams as Johnson just would not go away and forced it to seven innings.
SR Kait Petros got the win for the Eagles allowing 10 hits.
Offensively GMC was on fire:
SO Katie Jablonski (West Rutland, VT)(1 triple), FR Nancy Laughlin (3 doubles) and Petros all were 4 for 6. Holden and JR Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) 3 hits apiece. FR Christine DeVito (Windsor, CT), SO Hilary Dernier (Seattle, WA), FR Rachel Worrell (Glen Mills, PA) each had 2 hits. Malkin had two hits and 6 RBI's. JR Jess Houck (Cortland, NY) added a hit.
