Eagles Take Home AD3I Title
NEW LONDON, CT - The Eagles win the Northeast Independent Tournament with a walk off 3 run homer by FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ). The game was scoreless for the first three innings. In the bottom of the 4th GMC got on the scoreboard when Malkin got on base because of an error, FR Nancy Laughlin (Pittsford, VT) was walked, JR Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) put the ball in play and forced Newbury to commit another error to have bases loaded with no outs. SO Hilary Dernier (Seattle, WA) then hit a line drive down the first base line that was too tough to handle and Malkin scored and everyone else was safe.

Eagles advance to Final in Slugfest
NEW LONDON, CT - GMC advances to the Championship game of the Northeast Independent Tournament by beating the 5th seed UMPI 13-11. This was a game of hits and runs as both teams combined for 23 hits and 24 runs. GMC was able to control most of the game.

Eagles Advance in AD3I Tourney
NEW LONDON, CT - Green Mountain the 2 seed took on the 3 seed Newbury College in their first game of the Independent Tournament.
Nerves were a big factor in this game for GMC as they had 4 of their 5 errors in the first 4 innings, but as soon as the Eagles were able to calm down things came together nicely. In the first inning both teams scored 1 run. Then in the second inning both teams scored 2.

GMC sweeps Johnson St
JOHNSON, VT - Green Mountain traveled to Johnson St for a twinbill to end the regular season in Johnson, VT. The Eagles entered play with a 10-18 record taking on the homestanding Badgers who amassed a 0-22 record throughout their season.

Middlebury Takes Two
MIDDLEBURY, VT - In Game 1, Middlebury beat GMC 8-0 in 5 innings. GMC and Middlebury were tied 0-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning where Middlebury strung together 8 runs off 9 hits, and 1 error. GMC was not able to score in the top of the fifth putting the 8 run rule in effect.

GMC 4-0 on New Field
POULTNEY, VT - Green Mountain scored in each inning to put Southern Vermont away in five innings. The 15 hit attack was led by SR Kait Petros (Tewksbury, MA) going 4 for 4 including two triples and 2 RBI's. FR Nancy Laughlin (Pittsford, VT) had 3 hits. While FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ) and SO Katie Jablonski (West Rutland, VT) added two hits each.

Eagles Win Both in Independent Match up
POULTNEY, VT - The Eagles scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win their first game on their new field. GMC started out with 2 runs in the first inning and Mitchell did not score until the third when they tied it up. The Eagles tallied one in the fourth but Mitchell answered with one in the fifth and two in the sixth. Going into the bottom of the seventh GMC needed two runs to tie the game.

MCLA Sweeps GMC
NORTH ADAMS, MA - FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ) put GMC up 1-0 when she nailed a homerun over the centerfield fence in the top of the second inning. GMC held MCLA scoreless until the fifth when they scored all their runs. This was a well played game by both teams as each team committed only one error each.

Eagles Sweep Mountaineers
BENNINGTON, VT - The Eagles capitalized on 10 hits and 7 walks to score 14 runs and end the game in five innings. GMC scored in 4 of the 5 innings, while allowing SVC to score their lone run in the third.
FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ) had a 3 run homer and added another hit along with 5 RBI's. FR Nancy Laughlin (Pittsford, VT), JR Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) and JR Natalie Clark (West Palm Beach, FL) all added 2 hits each.

Hornets Sting Eagles in Doubleheader
POULTNEY, VT - Green Mountain held a 6-1 lead until the bottom of the fourth when Lyndon scored 6 runs to go up 7-6. LSC added another run in the fifth. The Eagles tallied one when JR Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) hit a homerun to make it 8-7. The Hornets added the last two in the sixth to put the game away.

Eagles Split with Rival Castleton
CASTLETON, VT - This was a solid game for both teams. Castleton scored early and late to get the win. The Spartans scored in the first and second and then the go ahead runs in the fifth and sixth. In the third inning GMC scored 3 runs when JR Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) singled, SO Katie Jablonski (West Rutland, VT) followed with a single, and FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ) crushed one over the fence to put GMC up 3-2. Castleton then tied it in the fifth. In the sixth Castleton had 5 of their 14 hits to score 3 runs and give GMC only one at bat to comeback.

GMC Drops Twinbill to Skidmore
POULTNEY, VT - GMC played tight for the first 5 innings, trailing only 6-0. Skidmore then exploded for 7 runs in the sixth inning. GMC played good defense but Skidmores bats were too much, as they nailed 18 hits.
The Eagles one hit of the game came in the fifth inning when FR Nancy Laughlin (Pittsford, VT) singled, advanced on an error and then stole to reach third and be the only base runner of the game for GMC.

Eagles Split with Hornets for the Second Day in a Row
POULTNEY, VT - In the opening game of the doubleheader GMC led 1-0 until the fifth inning. In the fifth LSC tied 2 hits and 2 walks together to score 3 runs. Then in the sixth they scored 3 more runs on 4 hits and 2 walks. GMC answered in the bottom of the inning scoring their second run when FR Amanda Malkin (Highland Lakes, NJ) singled, advanced when FR Nancy Laughlin (Pittsford, VT) singled, and then stole third and then home for the last run of the game.

Eagles Split Home Opener with Hornets
POULTNEY, VT - GMC collected 3 runs in the first and tallied two more in the second before Lyndon tied it up in the third. The Eagles then scored five in the fourth to take command. In the fourth GMC tied 6 hits together and capitalized on 2 errors to take the lead for good.
JR Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) got the win (2-2) scattering 13 hits, 7 walks and 2 strikeouts.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - In the last game of the Snowbird Softball Tournament GMC allows 7 runs in the first inning en route to a 16-1 defeat. The Eagles got the lone run in the top of the first.

Eagles Hit Their Way to Victory
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - GMC blasted 19 hits to beat PBU in seven innings. The Eagles trailed once in the game, in the first inning, 2-0. They quickly answered with 3 runs in the first and never trailed again. GMC scored in every inning except two.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - GMC finally put everything together in this game. Elizabethtown went up 1-0 in the first inning. Then in the second it was all GMC as the Eagles scored 6 runs to make it 6-1.

Offense Improves Against Juniata
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - This game was close throughout until the seventh when Juniata scored 9 runs in the top of the seventh. GMC got on the scoreboard in the fourth to make it 6-2. The Eagles got 4 hits in this one and continue to improve each game.

Villa Julie Out Bats GMC
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - FR Nancy Laughlin (Pittsford, VT) was a bright spot for GMC going 2-2 from the plate. The Eagles had a tough time getting started although only trailing 1-0 going into the 3rd. Villa Julie got 8 of their 14 hits in the third which proved to be too much for GMC to come back from.

Eagles Drop Game Two to Gettysburg
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - In Game 2 the Eagles played a tight game with Gettysburg. The Eagles held them to one run in the second and then one in the fifth but just couldn't seem to get one of their own. GMC did leave 3 runners on so there was an opportunity.

GMC Drops First Game
Myrtle Beach, SC - In the first game of the season for GMC on only their second day outside the Eagles lost 8-0 to Neumann College. The game was scoreless until Neumann scored one run in the bottom of the third. Then in the fourth they added 3 more and in the fifth 4 to end the game in five innings.
