March 14th, 2010 - (Chicopee, MA) - Elms College sophomore attacker Katlyn Harrington (East Longmeadow, MA) scored her first goal of the season, but Green Mountain College received a five-goal, four-assist performance from junior Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) to help lift the Eagles to a 16-1 victory over the Blazers in the 2010 season opener for Elms College.
March 13th, 2010 (Castleton, VT) The visiting Becker College Hawks tallied six unanswered goals spanning both halves to claim an 11-7 victory over Green Mountain College in womens lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. The contest, played at Castleton States Spartan Stadium, was the season opener for both teams.
March 12th, 2010 (Poultney, VT) Following a successful 5-5 campaign in 2009, the Green Mountain College womens lacrosse team launches into their 2010 season with an eye on a North Atlantic Conference title. The Eagles open their 13 game slate Saturday when they host Becker College at 3:30 pm. Due to field conditions, the contest will be played at Spartan Stadium on the campus of Castleton State.
February 23rd, 2010 (Poultney, VT) Following a 5-5 record in only their second season as a varsity sport, the Green Mountain College Eagles were chosen to finish second in the North Atlantic Conference East Division. The Eagles received two first-place votes and 16 total points in the conference coachs poll.
Five Womens Lacrosse Players Honored
The North Atlantic Conference honored five Green Mountain College womens lacrosse players for their outstanding individual achievements Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore attacker Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) and freshman midfielder Celie Dagesse (St. Petersburg, Fl) landed on the All-Conference 1st team while senior Amanda Jeffers (Homer, NY), freshman Kelsy Allan (Jupiter, FL) and sophomore Corey Gilbert (Henniker, NH) made the 2nd team.
Women's Lacrosse Ends Season on High Note
The Green Mountain College women's lacrosse team concluded their 2009 campaign Friday afternoon by beating Daniel Webster College 12-6. The Eagles finish the season with a 5-5 record.
Husson Shoots Down GMC
The visiting Eagles of Husson University out shot Green Mountain College 40-15 en route to a 10-5 NAC womens lacrosse victory Saturday afternoon. With the win, Husson (5-4, 2-2 NAC) solidifies the second seed for the upcoming NAC tournament. GMC falls to 4-5 (2-2, NAC).
Late GMC Rally Falls Short
The visiting Wells College Express held off a late rally by the host Eagles to claim a hard-fought 9-7 victory in womens lacrosse action Saturday. With the loss, GMC falls to 4-4 while Wells improves to 3-5.
