BANGOR, Maine - On a cold, wet, snowy day at Boucher Field, Green Mountain College women's lacrosse battled Husson and despite a late three-goal run, lost to Husson University 13-6 in a North Atlantic Conference matchup.
Husson (2-7, 2-2 NAC) scored the first six goals on the afternoon and hung on for the victory. Kim Gambon had a two goal day with two assists on five shots to lead the way for Husson. Caitlyn Stauffer scored three goals to support the offense while Alissa Fallon also scored three goals in the victory.
Green Mountain (0-7, 0-4 NAC) received a hat trick from Megan Scully (Henderson, N.Y.) and a pair of markers from Corinne Colpitts (Groveland, Mass.). Johanna Douglas (Essex, Conn.) scored the Eagles' sixth goal, while also dominating the draw circle with 11 draw controls and picking up five groundballs.
Kaitlin Dolloff stopped four shots in net for Husson en route to the win, while GMC was backstopped by Virginia Anderson (Silver Spring, Md.) who made 13 saves in defeat.
Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday the 16th as Green Mountain takes to the road to battle Colby-Sawyer at 4 p.m., while Husson takes on UMaine Farmington in their final home contest of the year.
