Five Women’s Lacrosse Players Honored

The North Atlantic Conference honored five Green Mountain College women's lacrosse players for their outstanding individual achievements Wednesday afternoon.  Sophomore attacker Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) and freshman midfielder Celie Dagesse (St. Petersburg, Fl) landed on the All-Conference 1st team while senior Amanda Jeffers (Homer, NY), freshman Kelsy Allan (Jupiter, FL) and sophomore Corey Gilbert (Henniker, NH) made the 2nd team.

Malkin finished the season 2nd in the NAC with 3.56 goals per game and 2nd in points per game (3.67).  She tallied a season-high 6 goals in consecutive games (Me.-Farmington, Thomas College) and netted 4 goals on three separate occasions.

Degesse added 13 goals on the season and was instrumental in the team's ability to transition through the midfield.  Her explosive speed and ability to posses the ball was instrumental in the team's 5-5 season.  She also corralled 42 ground balls and collected 16 draw controls.

As an attacker, Amanda Jeffers scored 23 goals on the season and a team-high 7 in the final match against Daniel Webster College.  Goalkeeper Kelsy Allan finished the season with an 11.11 goals against average and stopped 52.6% of shots she faced while defender Corey Gilbert helped solidify a much-improved defensive unit.

The Eagles, in their second year of competition, finished 5-5 (2-2 NAC).
