Johnson State Rolls By Green Mountain 72-50

JOHNSON, Vt. (February 7, 2009) - Johnson State used a balance offensive attack to key a 72-50 home North Atlantic Conference women's basketball victory on Saturday at Carter Gym. Eight Badgers scored five points or more in the contest en route to the victory avenging a loss in Poultney in January.
The Badgers shot 49% from the field on the day and buried nine three point field goals including four each from senior Staci Cutting (Rochester, Vt./Rochester) and graduate student Jenna Lewis (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury).
Cutting would finish with a game-high 16 points while grabbing a team-high seven rebounds. Lewis dished out seven assists to go with her 14 points and junior Claudia Martineau (Washington, Vt./Spaulding) tossed in 13 points and added three steals.
Green Mountain's Emma Buckley (Lakeville, Conn.) scored a team-best 16 points while Molly Hopper (Gouvernor, N.Y.) tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Johnson State will next play on Tuesday at home against Lyndon State College at 7:30 while Green Mountain will travel to Castleton on Tuesday, also a 7:30 tip-off.
