Panthers Edge Eagles

POULTNEY, VT - The Green Mountain Eagles played host to Albany Pharmacy Panthers in a duel of identical records (12-5).  The Panthers started fast and found themselves up 14-6 midway through the first before Green Mountain stepped on the gas sending the game into the locker room tied at 27.

Albany Pharmacy would grab a lead early in the second half that they would never relinquish.  The Eagles brought the game to within two on three occasions but could never muster enough to get over the top.  The game was at a feverish pitch with under 3 minutes left and the score reflected that.  With 31 seconds to go GMC was down by 4 points when SO Emma Buckley (Lakeville, CT) got fouled and headed to the line, she was 2-2 to put the Eagles down by 2.  GMC then foulded, where ACP made 1 of 2.  The Eagles came back with 20 seconds to go, but missed and fouled-ACP went 2-2 to put the Panthers up by 5 points.

Leading the way for GMC was JR Natalie Clark (West Palm Beach, FL) with 14 points-she was 2-4 from 3 pt land.  SO Emma Buckley had another huge day for the Eagles scoring 12 points, pulling down 18 rebounds and blocking 6 shots.  JR Christina Chamberlin chipped in with 9 points (5-8 from the foul line).

The Eagles will travel to Southern Vermont on Tuesday.
