POULTNEY, Vt. – Green Mountain College hosted its 10th annual GMC Invitational on Saturday and claimed a fourth place finish over the 8K course among the six teams competing.
Senior Jacob Nelson (West Barnstable, Mass.) continued his trend of consecutive personal bests as he knocked more than 30 seconds off his previous best to lead all Eagle runners with a time of 30:18 which placed him 19th overall in the field of 35.
Coming in second for the Eagles was freshman Mason McKnight (Grove City, Pa.) with a time of 32:37 which resulted in a 24th place showing.
Senior Samuel Eisenhaur (South Londonderry, Vt.) posted the third best time of the race with his result of 34:42 capturing 28th spot overall.
Sophomore Brandon Fain (Saunderstown, R.I.) and freshman Ben Nyklicek (Avon, Conn.) closed out the contingent of Eagle runners in the home event. Fain turned in a time of 36:19 for 30th overall while Nyklicek posted a time of 40:30 to earn a 34th place showing. Both results were personal bests for each harrier.
GMC will use this next weekend as a rest weekend before competing in the North Atlantic Conference Championship on October 28th.
