(September 26, 2009) - Farmington, ME - Freshman Christopher Donovan (Bedford, MA) continues his streak of first place finishes for Green Mountain College and narrowly missed cracking the top ten at the University of Maine at Farmington Saturday afternoon.  Donovan completed the 8k course in 32:29, good enough for 11^th place out of 33 runners while breaking his personal best at the distance by nearly 2 minutes. 

UMF took the team title with a perfect score of 15 points followed by Johnson State (68), Maine Maritime (72), and Thomas College (80) to finish off the top four.  UMF's Cameron Betts was the individual champion with a time of 29:06. GMC did not have enough runners finish to record a score.

Freshman Andrew O'Niell (Philmont, NY) and junior Scott Preavy (Morrisville, VT) did well, finishing with times of 34:30 and 34:52 good enough for 22^nd and 23^rd place respectively. Freshman Chris Pedersen (Hampden, ME) rounded out the scoring on the men's side in 27^th (36:17).

GMC returns to action Saturday, October 3^rd at the Vermont State Meet in Johnsonville, VT.
