FARMINGTON, Maine – Green Mountain men's soccer allowed a pair of goals to Hunter Michaud as part of UMaine-Farmington's 4-0 win over the Eagles on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play.
The Beavers move to 2-2 in the NAC and 6-5 overall while the Eagles fall to 0-6 in the NAC and 1-8 overall.
The Beavers outshot the Eagles 24-1 while the Eagles' keeper Griffin Shelor (Cedar Park, Texas) had 10 saves. The Beavers had 10 corner kicks to Green Mountain's three.
The Beavers scored two goals in the first half and two in the second. Nick Marshall scored the first goal at the 15-minute mark on a rebound off the goalie. Michaud scored the Beavers' second goal about 25 minutes later off a pass from Christian Wallenmaier.
Michaud opened up the second half scoring when Thomas Dupuy sent a ball into the box off a corner kick where Michaud headed the ball into the back of the net.
Jon Randolph then headed one into the back of the net late in the second half to give the Beavers the victory.
The Eagles will visit Thomas tomorrow afternoon with a 2:30 p.m. start time.
