Men and Women’s Soccer Matches vs Castleton LIVE
(October 16, 2009) - Poultney, VT - The Green Mountain College men and women's soccer teams are set to square off against Castleton in a North Atlantic Conference derby Saturday, October 17th. The women kick-off at 4:00 pm followed by the men at 6:00. Castleton, in conjunction with the New England Sports Network, will provide LIVE coverage of both the matches via the web.
The GMC women enter the match with a 4-7-1 record (2-2-1, NAC) and are fresh off a 2-0 victory over Southern Vermont College. The Eagles are currently 5th in the conference table while the host Spartans are a perfect 5-0 in the NAC and have yet to conceded a goal (7-5-2, overall).
On the men's side, GMC are still seeking their first win of the season as they battle through a tough rebuilding year. In their last NAC contest, the Eagles dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Maine Maritime. Castleton are 3rd in the conference table with a 3-1-1 mark (7-6-2, overall) and are coming off a1-0 midweek loss at NESCAC power Middlebury College.
