(September 15, 2009) - Poultney, VT - The visiting Southern Vermont College Mountaineers used 4 first-half goals to easily dismiss GMC 5-0 in men's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.  SVC improves to 4-2 on the season while GMC falls to 0-4-1.

The Eagles were on the back foot from the opening moments under constant pressure from the Mountaineers.  SVC finally broke through in the 14^th minute when GMC conceded a penalty kick.  Junior Tony Martinez (Hoosick Falls, NY) slotted home giving the Mountaineers the only goal they would need. 

Sophomore Nick Haggerty (Wyantskill, NY) added a second in the 31^st followed by freshman Adrien Alexis (Maplewood, NJ) in the 41^st, and Junior Ben Naaktgeboren (Cambridge, NY) netted the 4^th goal only 38 seconds later.

Alexis tacked on one final goal in the second half making the final score line 5-0

The Eagles return to action Saturday September 19^th when they host Johnson St. in opening match of the North Atlantic Conference season.
