Ryan Spill Propels GMC past Huskies

(oct 16, 2008) Pottersville, NY
A first minute goal from Freshman Ryan Spill was all the Eagles needed Thursday evening against Word of Life.
GMC exerted immediate pressure on WOL through freshman Brendan Regan when he struck a ball off the crossbar. After regaining possession, Regan found Spill who struck a ball from 30 yards into the far corner for the only goal of the match just 1 minute in. "It was a marvelous strike," said coach Mitchell. "He has started to assert himself of late and a goal of that quality was some time coming."
The Eagles maintained the majority of possession throughout the match forcing WOL keeper Jonathon Harris into 13 saves. Ryder Ritchie stopped 2 shots en route to his second straight clean sheet.
The Eagles return home after 5 matches on the road against conference rival Castleton State College at 3pm on Saturday.
