Eagles Fall to Pilgrims

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Green Mountain College men's lacrosse team was defeated 26-3 by New England College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Wednesday afternoon at Don Melander Field.

The win improved the Pilgrims to 11-4 with a 5-0 record in the NAC while Green Mountain fell to 1-8 with a 1-5 record in the NAC.

NEC was led by Reilly Parker and Patrick Storie offensively with four goals each.  Matt Richard led the Pilgrims with six assists while Storie lead all scorers with eight points.

Dominic Wright (Queens, N.Y.) notched a hat trick for the Eagles, his second hat trick of the season. Chris Surdam (Plymouth, Mass.) had an assist for the Eagles. Surdam also led the Eagles in groundballs with three.

William Platt made three saves in the contest, playing all sixty minutes to go to 9-4 on the season. Chelsea Wimble (Colchester, Vt.) made a career-high 20 saves for the Eagles. Wimble fell to 1-5 on the season with the loss.

The Pilgrims would score seven-straight goals to open up the contest. The first quarter would come to a close with the Pilgrims out in front, 12-2. The Pilgrims would add six goals in the second quarter and the third quarter. The Pilgrims would add two goals in the final frame but the Eagles would also score once in the quarter.

Green Mountain will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Husson University at Castleton for its last NAC contest of the season with start time scheduled for 6 p.m.
