CASTLETON, Vt. – Green Mountain was unable to stop the methodical Castleton offense in a 21-2 loss Monday night in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's lacrosse game at Spartan Stadium.

Tyler Crowningshield led the Spartan offense with five goals and three assists, while Colton Leno finished with four goals and one assist. Drew Wood notched two goals, two assists, and five groundballs.

Castleton (8-8, 5-1 NAC) opened the contest with a 9-0 run with Leno and Crowningshield contributing four of the nine tallies.

Green Mountain (1-10, 1-6 NAC) would score the next two goals, first with 59 seconds remaining in the second quarter as Deven Rogers earned his sixth tally of the season on a nice individual effort. Just 2:32 after halftime, Dominic Wright scored his seventh goal of the year as he dodged right then spun back left and held the defender on his hip while firing past the Spartan goalie low and left. However that would be the Eagles' last goal of the night as they finished with just eight shots.

The Spartans scored six more goals in the final two quarters to close out the scoring on the night.

Dakota Jones picked up the victory in net for the Spartans making just one save on three shots. GMC's Carl Diethelm recorded eight saves while taking the loss and gave way to Daniel McKinney who recorded a pair of saves in 15 minutes of action.

Green Mountain's season ended with the final horn of this game as the team will not advance to the NAC tournament.
