Eagles Shutout by Hornets

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – Coming off of its first victory of the season, the Green Mountain College men's lacrosse squad was downed by Lyndon State 22-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action Saturday afternoon at the Varsity Athletic Field.

Zachary Carey grasped five goals and two groundballs.  Spencer Aubin added three goals, an assist, and a ground ball.  Adam Peeler and Kendrick Mills pitched in two goals with five and six groundballs, respectively.  Ian Pelkey, Brandon Hunter, Marshall Blackman, Logan Parenti, Shea Jones, and Konner Bick all added a goal each.  Timmy Scanlon, Conor Brennan, Jet Magri, and Tom Lanza each recorded their first career goal.  Anthony Altermatt had a game-high eight groundballs.

Ethan Cooper had three ground balls and two caused turnovers while Chris Surdam, Brandon Bellissimo, and John Waddington collected two groundballs each.

Shane Morin grasped the win for the Hornets with two saves while Marcus Bessette relieved him in the second half and collected five saves for the combined shutout. Carl Diethelm had thirteen saves on the day for the Eagles.

Green Mountain (1-7, 1-3 NAC) hosts New England College on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Lyndon (6-4, 3-0 NAC) travels to Wheelock on Tuesday, April 18th at 5:30 p.m.
