Eagles Tripped up by Raptors

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Four players scored multiple goals for Bard College as the Raptors defeated Green Mountain College 17-1 in men's lacrosse non-conference action on Saturday evening at College Park Field on Union College's campus.

Bard (2-0) took the early lead in the first period scoring two goals in the first eight minutes of action and looked content to take that slight lead into the second, but the Raptors then tallied three goals in the last two minutes of the first to give the hosts a comfortable 5-0 lead heading into the second period.

Bard's streak of unanswered goals would extend into the fourth period as the Raptors streaked to a 17-0 lead before Green Mountain notched its only goal of the game on an unassisted marker by Charlie Petrick (Henniker, N.H.).  Petrick's goal was his first of the season and would close out the scoring in the game while preventing a shutout.

The Raptors received five goals on 17 shots while also getting three assists from Mat Livermore who led the team in scoring.  DJ Peters converted on four shots while also adding three assists. Eli Cottonham and Henry Blosfelds were the other multi-goal scorers for Bard scoring three and two goals, respectively.

John Henry Glassock and Troy Ludtka shared time in net for Bard with Glassock picking up his second win, making three saves.  Ludtka turned aside eight of nine shots on net during his time in net.  GMC's Luke Carey (Brooklyn, N.Y) tied a career-high with 19 saves in his third loss of the year.

Green Mountain (0-3) heads down to Regis College (Mass.) for its next game on Tuesday, March 18 at 5 p.m., while Bard will also be on the road in its next contest against SUNYIT on Wednesday, March 19 at 6 p.m.
