Emerson Too Much For Eagles

The visiting Lions from Emerson College scored 5 second quarter goals to pull away from the host Eagles Saturday afternoon and claim a (14-3) North Atlantic Conference victory.
In a tight opening 15 minutes, Green Mountain struck first just over a minute into the game through senior midfielder Max Talsky (Hanover, NH). The Lions quickly answered back, tacking on three scores before the Eagles' Talsky drew one back with his second of the game on a power play at the 2:27 mark. Talsky found the net one more time in the dying moments of the opening quarter leveling the score at 3.
It was all Emerson in the final 45 minutes as they added 11 goals and used a stingy defensive effort to hold the hosts scoreless. Braden Campbell (Northfield, NJ) stopped 11 shots for the Lions to preserve the win. Senior Joe Greaney (Medfield, MA) led the Emerson charge netting 5 gaols. Junior Roger Tower (Titusville, NJ) and sophomore Axel Larson (Westford, VT) each chipped in 3 goals while senior Jake Frank (Bethany, CT) notched a pair of assists.
With the win, Emerson improves to (3-2) on the season while GMC falls to (0-6).
The Eagles return to action tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 pm when they host Mitchell College in a non-conference game. Emerson returns home for a 5:00 pm match tomorrow afternoon against St. Joseph's College.
