Becker Cruises to Victory in Mens Lacrosse Action

Poultney, VT- The visiting Hawks of Becker College used 9 first quarter goals on the way to a convincing (19-7) victory in non-conference men's lacrosse action Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the contest through junior Thomas Wheeler (Seattle, WA). Becker would answer back with 2 goals of their own before GMC sophomore Edgar Vigil (Marlborough, MA) leveled the score at the 10:23 mark.
It was the Hawks, however, who would grab control of the game reeling off 7 unanswered goals over the final 8:04 of the first quarter. The Eagles snatched a goal back in the 2nd when Vigil notched his second goal of the contest on the power play, but Becker found the net 4 more times and headed into the break up (13-3).
Green Mountain added 4 2nd half goals to their tally, but were unable to close the gap as Becker were able to put another 6 goals beyond senior net-minder Keith Drinkwine (Selkirk, NY).
Max Talsky (Hanover, NH) led the way for the Eagles with 4 goals while Wheeler added 3. Becker freshman Jon Nessen (Levittown, PA) tallied 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) while juniors Josh Fask (Worcester, MA) and Aaron Fill (Lander, B.C.) both added 3 goals and a pair of assists.
Keith Drinkwine stopped 19 shots for the Eagles while senior Peter Fellows (Boylston, MA) made 5 saves for the Hawks.
The Eagles drop to (0-4) on the season and return to action Wednesday, April 1st when they face NAC rival Castleton State at 4:30 pm. With the win, the Hawks improve to (4-1) and travel to Anna Maria on Wednesday at 4 pm.
