Men's Lacrosse 2009 Season Outlook

The Green Mountain College men's lacrosse team looks stronger than it has in four seasons under head coach Rob Labate and look to improve upon last year's (1-9) record. With 7 returning upperclassmen and a host of talented youngsters, the Eagles are ready to challenge for honors in their inaugural season as members of the North Atlantic Conference.
Senior captains Kyle Pike (Concord, NH) and Steve Braunius (Lake Pleasant, NY) will lead the eagles this season while sophomores Brian Kramp (Whalen, MA), Max Talsky (Hanover, NH), Christian Sapovits (Westchester, PA), senior Jeff Allen (Bryant Pond, ME), and junior Tom Wheeler (Seattle, WA) are expected to be a major component of the teams' success.
New members of the team have been impressive during pre-season training. Freshmen Seth Hamilton (Edgartown, MA) and Eric Rue (Riverwoods, Ill.) are welcome additions to the offense while fellow freshman Kevin Keating (Hartford, CT) has joined the defensive unit and is expected to make an immediate impact on the squad.
The Eagles open their season at 1pm on Saturday, March 21st at Maine Maritime Academy. The home opener against Mitchell College is slated for Sunday March 23rd at noon.
