Donovan 51st at Vermont Championship

(October 3, 2009) - Johnson, VT - Sophomore Chris Donovan continued his string of top-finishes for GMC in 51st at the Vermont Intercollegiate Championship Saturday afternoon. The race, hosted by Johnson State, featured 10 Vermont Colleges across all 3 divisions and included the College of St. Joseph (NAIA).
Middlebury College captured both the team and individual titles, nabbing 5 of the top 6 places. Jack Davies was 1st overall in a time of 27:41. The University of Vermont was 2nd (48) followed by Norwich University (100), Lyndon State (104), St. Michael's (106), Castleton (154), Vermont Technical College (214), and Johnson State (229). GMC and the College of St. Joseph did not place.
GMC freshman Andrew O'Neill (Philmont, NY) nabbed 66th (36:31) closely followed by Scott Preavy (Morrisville, VT) in 69th (37:02). Michael Kearns (Rockport, MA) finished 71st out of the 77 runners with a time of 38:24.
The Eagles return to action October 17th when they host the GMC Invitational. Race time is set for 11:45 am.
