Donovan Paces Men

(September 12, 2009) - Cobleskill, NY - Freshman Christopher Donovan (Bedford, MA) was the top finisher for GMC at the Steve A Ward Invitational hosted by SUNY Cobleskill Saturday afternoon completing the 5.2 mile course is 34:19.  Donovan's mark was good enough for 84th in the 12-team field while the Eagles finished 11th overall.

Rochester Institute of Technology captured the team title with 16 points.  SUNY Delhi (57), Utica College (94), and Mohawk Valley Community College (112) rounded out the top 4.  RIT's Mike Harbarger was the individual champion setting a course record in 27:13.29.

Junior Scott Peavey (Morrisville, VT) and sophomore Jonathan O'Neill (Bethel, CT) ran well, finishing 100th and 101st just 1 second apart at 35:25 and 35:26.  Andrew O'Neill (Philmont, NY) and Aaron Ashton also turned in solid performances, claiming 110th and 111th at 37:02 and 37:19.  Sophomore Michael Kearns (Rockport, MA) rounded out the scoring for the men's team in 120th at 38:48.

The Eagles return to the course Saturday September 19th at Bard College.
