GMC Men’s Soccer Alum Named Goalkeeper Coach for Sky Blue FC
(October 19, 2009) – Poultney, VT – Former Green Mountain College men’s soccer standout Rick Stainton Jr. was named goalkeeper coach of the defending Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) league champion Sky Blue FC. The announcement was made Wednesday, October 14th at the Sky Blue headquarters in Somerset, NJ.

(October 17, 2009) - Castleton, VT - Senior forward Sean Fitzgerald (Saratoga, NY) netted his eighth goal of the season 17 minutes into to the contest as Castleton went on to defeat Green Mountain College, 4-0, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men’s soccer action at Spartan Stadium.

Men and Women’s Soccer Matches vs Castleton LIVE
(October 16, 2009) – Poultney, VT – The Green Mountain College men and women’s soccer teams are set to square off against Castleton in a North Atlantic Conference derby Saturday, October 17th. The women kick-off at 4:00 pm followed by the men at 6:00. Castleton, in conjunction with the New England Sports Network, will provide LIVE coverage of both the matches via the web.

Norwich Blasts GMC, 8-0
(October 14, 2009) - Northfield, VT - The Norwich University men’s soccer team got back on track Wednesday afternoon with an 8-0 romp over visiting Green Mountain College in a non-conference match at Howard Field. Ryan Robertson paced the offense for Norwich (6-6-2) as the sophomore forward netted his first career hat trick and added a pair of assists. Freshman Mike Ravenelle chipped in two goals, while freshman Kyle Buscaglia posted one goal and two assists.

(October 11, 2009) - Poultney, VT - Pat Somma’s (Windham, ME) goal in the 15th proved to be the game-winning tally in a 1-0 victory over Green Mountain College in a critical north Atlantic Conference men’s soccer fixture Sunday afternoon. The Mariners are currently 6-5-1 (2-2, NAC) while the Eagles fall to 0-10-1 (0-5, NAC).

(October 10, 2009) – Poultney, VT – A tragic own-goal in the 19th minute proved to be enough as the visiting Husson University Eagles picked up North Atlantic Conference victory Saturday afternoon on a rain soaked pitch. Husson improves to 5-8-1 (2-0-1, NAC) while GMC remains winless at 0-9-1.

(October 4th, 2009) – Waterville, ME – The host Thomas College Terriers used a 4 goal second half to drop the visiting Eagles 5-0 in men’s soccer action Sunday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 0-8-1 (0-3, NAC) with the loss while the Terriers improve to 3-6-1 (1-1-1, NAC).

GMC Drops NAC Road Contest
(October 3, 2009) - Farmington, ME - The University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team set down Green Mountain College 3-0 in North Atlantic Conference action today at Prescott Field. The Beavers (4-4 overall, 1-1 in the NAC) are slated to host Castleton State College Sunday at 2:15 p.m. The Eagles (0-7-1, 0-2) are tabbed to take on Thomas College in Waterville Sunday.

(September 30, 2009) – Poultney, VT – The visiting Trailblazers converted a first-half penalty kick and pair of goals in the final 45 minutes to claim a 3-0 victory over Green Mountain College in men’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon. MCLA improves to 4-2-1 on the season while the Eagles are still winless at 0-6-1.

With the win, Johnson St. improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the NAC while the Eagles fall to 0-5-1, 0-1.
