GMC drops decision to Husson

September 11, 2008
Bangor, ME
Two second half goals by Husson College proved to be too much for GMC on a blustery Saturday afternoon in Bangor Me.
Green Mountain had stretches of possession throughout the match as freshman Ryan Spill linked well with fellow freshman Colin Miner and Brendan Regan. Sophomore Nelson Ongiti patrolled the left flank and gave defenders fits with piercing runs forward, creating several opportunities.
It was, however, Husson who broke through for the first goal of the match mid-way through the second half when an excellent individual effort culminated with a close range shot that beat freshman Ryder Ritchie low to the right side. As GMC pushed on looking for the equalizer, Husson tacked on a second on a service from the right side that found an unmarked attacker on the back post.
The Eagles complete their road-trip tomorrow when they visit Maine Maratime in Castine, Me.
