GMC Student-Athletes Named to NAC All-Academic Team
The North Atlantic Conference recently honored 8 Green Mountain College student-athletes for their outstanding academic success. To be named to the winter/spring NAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing, have competed a minimum two years in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.

Talsky Nabs NAC All-Conference Honor; Team Wins Sportsmanship Award
Green Mountain College men’s lacrosse student-athlete Max Talsky (Hanover, NH) was honored by the North Atlantic Conference Wednesday afternoon landing on the All-Conference 2nd team while the squad was awarded the 2009 NAC Sportsmanship Award.

Eagles Falter in Season Finale
The Green Mountain College men’s lacrosse team squandered a 6-4 halftime lead to St. Joseph’s College of Maine, losing 15-7 in the North Atlantic conference season finale Thursday afternoon. The Eagle’s finish the season with a 1-11 mark and 0-9 in NAC play while the Monks improve to 4-12, 2-7 and claim the final spot in the upcoming conference tournament.

Lyndon State jumped out to an 8-4 lead by halftime and held off a late charge to record a hard-fought 13-11 victory over Green Mountain College Saturday in North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action.

Quick start lifts JSC over Eagles
JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State jumped out to a 9-0 lead after one period and coasted to a 15-7 North Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse victory on Wednesday at Minaert Field. The Badgers outshot Green Mountain 28-8 on the afternoon and won the groundball battle 56-34.

Eagles Roll Past Green Mountain
Bangor, Maine - Husson University rolled to a 26-5 victory over Green Mountain College in men's lacrosse action on Boucher Field. Nine different Eagles scored with Ben Landry (Fy, Lewiston, ME) leading the way with 7 goals and 1 assist. The Eagles outscored Green Mountain 21-1 after the first quarter. Green Mountain, limited to only 12 players trailed only 5-4 after the 1st quarter. Max Talsky (Sr, Hanover, NH) scored the game's first goal putting GMC up early 1-0. Edgar Vigil (So, Marlborough, MA) scored 20 seconds later making it 2-0.

Eagle’s fall to Cadets
The visiting Cadets of Norwich University staved off a second-half comeback bid by Green Mountain College to pick up a 15-8 non-conference men’s lacrosse win Wednesday afternoon. The victory was the first on the season for NU (1-6 overall) while GMC falls to 1-7.

Fourth-Quarter Surge Propels GMC to Victory
Six 4th quarter goals by Green Mountain College were good enough to claim a 14-12 non-conference men’s lacrosse victory over Mitchell College Sunday afternoon. The win was the first on the season for the Eagles who are 1-6 overall. Max Talsky led the way for Green Mountain with 6 goals and an assist. Christian Sapovits added a trio of scores and dished out 3 assists while Steve Braunius chipped in with 3 goals. Tom Wheeler was instrumental in the Eagles success, collecting 6 assists while scoring the game’s decisive goal. Senior defender Kyle Pike (Concord, NH) won 16 face-offs for GMC and helped anchor a stout defensive effort late in the game.

Emerson Too Much For Eagles
The visiting Lions from Emerson College scored 5 second quarter goals to pull away from the host Eagles Saturday afternoon and claim a (14-3) North Atlantic Conference victory. In a tight opening 15 minutes, Green Mountain struck first just over a minute into the game through senior midfielder Max Talsky (Hanover, NH). The Lions quickly answered back, tacking on three scores before the Eagles’ Talsky drew one back with his second of the game on a power play at the 2:27 mark. Talksy found the net one more time in the dying moments of the opening quarter leveling the score at 3.

Castleton, VT - Castleton received at least one goal from 13 different players, and multiple goals from five, in a 20-2 win over Green Mountain College in North Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse action Wednesday evening.

Poultney, VT- The visiting Hawks of Becker College used 9 first quarter goals on the way to a convincing (19-7) victory in non-conference men’s lacrosse action Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Knocks Off Green Mountain in Men’s Lacrosse
Poultney, VT- Thomas College defeated Green Mountain College 15-4 in men’s lacrosse as 8 players found the back of the net for the Terriers. Thomas started fast with a Kolby Peckham (West Gardiner, ME) goal 2 minutes and 56 seconds into the contest. Thomas tallied five more scores in the first quarter, as a Peckham shot found the net again with 7:15 remaining in the opening quarter. Justin Lawler (Oakland, ME) and Jeremy Parmley (Eliot, ME) score thirty eight seconds apart, both on feeds from Peckham in the eleventh minute of the first quarter. Luke Collier (Sidney, ME) and TJ Collins (East Bridgewater, ME) then tallied goals in the final minute of the first to give the visitors a 6-0 lead.

This weekend's home men's lacrosse games will be played at Northwood Park in Rutland, VT. The change was made after the game field at Green Mountain College was deemed unplayable.

Mounta Ida Powers to 21-3 Victory Over Green Mountain in Men's Lacrosse
The Mount Ida College men’s lacrosse team continued their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) six year winning streak to 39-0 beating visiting Great Mountain College 21-3 on Wednesday afternoon. The Mustangs improve to 3-4 overall and a perfect 2-0 in the NAC while the Eagles drop to 0-2 on the year, 0-2 in conference play.

Castine, Maine -- Christopher Keiley ’11 (Holliston, MA) scored six goals and dished out four assists as the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners crushed the Green Mountain College Eagles 20-2 in a North Atlantic Conference men’s lacrosse game played Saturday afternoon at Ritchie Field.

Men's Lacrosse 2009 Season Outlook
The Green Mountain College men’s lacrosse team looks stronger than it has in four seasons under head coach Rob Labate and look to improve upon last year’s (1-9) record. With 7 returning upperclassmen and a host of talented youngsters, the Eagles are ready to challenge for honors in their inaugural season as members of the North Atlantic Conference.
