The Key to Finishing
Poultney, VT - Green Mountian hosted Mount Saint Vincent on a balmy Vermont spring day. Both squads saw ample opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net. Mt. St. Vincent's red hot keeper and surgical finishing outdid the Eagles in a contest that was closer than the score suggests.
"Egan (MSV goalkeeper) and their defense was stellar today," commented Eagles coach Rob Labate. "Their attackmen were precise with their shots and our timely fouls kept us from proving stronger. They (MSV) did a great job."
The Eagles saw three goals from three different players. Sophomore Jared "Max" Talsky (Hanover, NH) scored yet again. Senior Tim Donaghy (Evanston, IL) and freshman Chris Sapovitz (Westchester, PA) tallied a goal apiece. Junior Steve Braunius made 13 stops in the match.
Green Mountain (1-6) travels to Becker College for the second of a back-to-back.
