November 19th, 2009 (Poultney, VT) Following a disappointing double-overtime loss to cross-town NAIA rival College of St. Josephs in the season opener Monday night, the Green Mountain College mens basketball team looks to pick up their first win of the season this weekend when they travel to the University of Rochester for the 26th annual Chuck Resler Tournament. The Eagles square off against the host Yellowjackets Friday, November 20th at 8:00 pm followed by a 1:00 pm Saturday meeting with Brockport.
November 16th, 2009 Rutland, VT The College of St. Joseph Fighting Saints battled back from a 14 point 2nd half deficient to force overtime where, in the 2nd extra period, they pulled away for a hard-fought 87-82 victory over the visitors from Green Mountain College. CSJ improves to 2-0 on the young season while the Eagles drop to 0-1.
November 15th, 2009 (Poultney, VT) - The Green Mountain College mens basketball team enters the 2009-2010 campaign Monday at the College of St. Joesphs (VT) at 7:00 pm looking to build on two consecutive winning seasons. The Eagles return 4 members of last years 16-11 squad including a pair of all-conference honorees in Gerard Johnson (Bingahmton, NY) and Rui Carmo (Cape Coral, FL). A junior forward, Johnson led Green Mountain in rebounding with 10.9 rpg, and was third on the team in scoring at 13.4 ppg while Carmo led the team in scoring with 17.6 ppg and was second in rebounding with 7.8 rpg.
November 12, 2009 (Poultney, VT) The Green Mountain College mens basketball team was picked to finish 4th in the North Atlantic Conference today. The pre-season poll, as voted on by the coaches, places the Eagles behind Husson University (1), Thomas, and Me.-Farmington.
Thomas knockes off Green Mountain in NAC Men's Semifinals
Waterville, METhe North Atlantic Conference postseason basketball tournament kicked off Friday night with a Thomas College (Waterville, ME) victory over Green Mountain College (Pultney, VT). The Terriers entered the tournament as the #1 seed and Green Mountain was seeded #4. Thomas was able to overcome the Eagles of Green Mountain by the final score of 90-84.

Six Basketball Players Honored by NAC
The North Atlantic Conference honored a trio of GMC women and mens basketball players this week. The All-Conference teams, as voted on by the coaches, featured two second-team nominations and one honorable mention for both teams.
GMC Too Much for Johnson
The Green Mountain College Eagles used a 13 point first half lead to propel them to victory over Johnson State College (86-77) and a berth in the NAC semifinals. The Eagles limited to JSC to 27 first half points and 41.8% shooting for the game.
Emma Brinley-Buckley Senior Emma Brinley Buckley (Lakeville, CT) is a three sport student-athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse for the Eagles. A Self-Design major, she carried a 3.3 GPA this spring. (click on headline for more)
