Terriers Improve Record with Victory over Green Mountain College

In a defensive North Atlantic Conference battle, the Thomas College Terriers defeated the Green Mountain College Eagles by a score of 59-52.  Three Terriers would score double-digits, while the Eagles would have two in double figures.  Offense would be hard to come by on the night with both teams shooting under 40% on the night.  Thomas would finish at 36.8%, while Green Mountain would finish at 32.7%.

The Terriers were able to take control early in the game, jumping out to an 18-5 advantage in the first 7:21 of the period.  Over the final eight minutes of the first half, Green Mountain would rebound from the deficit outscoring Thomas 15-7.  While Fabian Ferreira would rack up 10 points in the first frame, Thomas would have three different players score five points in the first half to  take the slim 30-27 lead into the final period.

While the Terriers would score the first basket of the second half, the Eagles would end up going on an 8-0 run in the middle of the period to take a one-point advantage.  Responding with a 6-0 run of their own, the Terriers would regain the lead quickly after and hold on down the stretch for the 59-52 victory.

Isaiah Brathwaite (So., Farmington, ME) would lead the way for the Terriers with 15 points on the evening.  Andrew Duncanson (So., Portland, ME) would add in 11 on the night on 5-8 shooting from the field, while Darrell Alexander (Jr., Fairfield, TX) would contribute 10 points for the win.  Narrowly missing out on a double-double was Shawn Rodgers (Fr., Philadelphia, PA) who grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and also tossed in nine points.

Leading the way for the Eagles was Fabian Ferreira (Sr., Queens, NY ), who put up 12 points for the visitors.  Rui Carmo (Jr., Fort Meyers, FL) added 11 on the night, while also leading the team with eight rebounds.

The Terriers will return to the hardwood Saturday afternoon when they face Castleton State University at 1:00 p.m.  at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.  The Eagles will also pick up play Saturday, travelling to the University of Maine at Farmington to take on the Beavers.
