(Lyndonville, VT) - Jason Gray fired in 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to propel the Lyndon State College men's basketball team to a 98-84 win over Green Mountain College Tuesday in the North Atlantic Conference Opener for both teams.

Ben Sackett tossed in 23 points for the Hornets and O'Bee Byrd came off the bench to tally 12 points. Point guard Jose Fortunato collected his second-straight double-double by scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He also has a game-high eight assists and four steals in the contest.

Rui Carmo poured in a game-high 40 points for the Eagles, who dressed only six players for the game. Billy Fuel had 20 points and four steals in the loss while Trent Morgan added 17 points and six assists. Carmo also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds in the loss.

With the win, Lyndon improves to 5-6 overall and 1-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. GMC falls to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the NAC.

The Eagles return to action Saturday when they head to Wells College for a 3:00 pm non-conference meeting with the Express.
