Six Basketball Players Honored by NAC

The North Atlantic Conference honored a trio of GMC women and men's basketball players this week.  The All-Conference teams, as voted on by the coaches, featured two second-team nominations and one honorable mention for both teams.

Junior forward Emma Buckley (Lakeville, CT) and senior guard Britanny Holden (Schenectady, NY) landed second-team honors for the women while senior forward Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) was voted to the honorable mention team. 

Buckley finished the conference season averaging a fourth-best 14.2 ppg and was second in rebounds with 11.4.  She also led the conference in blocks with 59.  Holden led the conference in assists, dishing 84 while also collecting 9.8 ppg.  Chamberlin was fifth in the conference with 9.2 rpg and third in field goal percentage at 49.2 while averaging 12 ppg. 

Sophomore forward Gerard Johnson (Binghamton, NY) and senior guard Fabian Ferriera (Queens, NY) garnered second-team honors for the men while junior forward Rui Carmo (Fort Meyers, FL) was named to the honorable mention team.

Ferriera averaged a fifth-best 17.7 ppg in conference play followed by Carmo in sixth with 17.6.  Rui also grabbed 7.8 rebounds per game.  Johnson was fourth in the conference in rebounds grabbing 10.2 per game while also averaging 12.4 ppg on 45.5% shooting from the field.
