Lyndon State's Brad Durr (Windham, CT) scored a game high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Hornets edge Green Mountain College on the road Tuesday night. 

 

With 1:45 left and the score 62-60 in favor of GMC, Durr made a lay-up and converted the free-throw after a foul to put LSC up for good.  Noah fink added a lay-up with 1:32 on the clock to extend the lead o 65-62.  Clutch free throw shooting by the Hornets the rest of the way preserved the victory.

The Eagles, who shot 37.5% for the game, where led by sophomore Gerard Johnson's (Binghamton, NY) 28 points, 22 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 assists.  Freshman Darren Upshaw (Knoxville, TN) chipped in with 14 points while seniors Fabian Ferreira (Queens, NY) and Rich Bailey (Bronx, NY) also added 14.

LSC freshman Ben Sackett (Lyndonville, VT) scored 16 points, including 4 three pointers.  Senior Cesar Martinez (East Harlem, NY) added 12 points add hit several free throws in the last minute to seal the victory.

Green Mountain College, who falls to (7-3) on the season and (0-1) in the conference, returns to action Saturday, January 17th when they travel to MCLA in a non-conference game.  Lyndon State College improves to (4-3) and (1-0) in conference play.
