The Green Mountain men's basketball team opened the 2008-2009 campaign Friday evening at the Ad Pro Sports Classic hosted by D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY with an 85-47 loss to Medaille College.  The Mavericks jumped out to a 7 point lead mid-way through the first half and never looked back.  Green Mountain struggled from the field shooting only 34% for the game while going 12 for 25 from the free throw line. GMC were led by sophomore forward Gerard Johnson's (Binghamton, NY) 13 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Eagles return to action Saturday afternoon at 2pm against Bard College in the consolation game of the Ad Pro Sports Classic.
