Eagles Bring Home Hardware - Beat Out MCLA
Nashua, NH - All Tournament selection Doug Hammond
(Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Fabian Ferreira (Queens, N.Y.) knocked down 26
points each with Hammond pulling
in a game high 15 rebounds, as Green Mountain fended off MCLA,
91-89 in the championship of the Best Western Tip Off Saturday.
The Eagles (2-0) also saw 24 points from All Tournament selection Adam Fisher (Miami, Fla.), who went 10 of 15 from the line and dished out seven assists.
Green Mountain led by as many as 13 early in the second half and held an 85-75 lead with 1:19 to play. An MCLA three point play sliced the lead to three at 87-84 with 28 seconds left, but GMC knocked down five of its final six at the line to hold on the for the victory.
Green Mountain is back in action Tuesday night when they travel to Bard for an 8:00 p.m. tip off.
