Green Mountain's Adam Fisher Inks Contract in Mexico
Green Mountain College’s Adam Fisher has just signed a professional basketball contract with Tijuana Galagos in the LNBP. The LNBP is the top professional league in Mexico, and Fisher has signed with the Galagos to help them in the stretch run as they make a push for the playoffs. “It was something I’ve dreamed of since I was a little kid, it’s a blessing.”

Eagle's Doug Hammond Headed to Germany
Poultney, VT - Green Mountain College senior Douglas Hammond has just inked a contract with SSV Lok Bernau basketball club in Germany. Hammond who helped lead Green Mountain to the Northeast Region Independent Title this season will be joining the Bernau club at the beginning of August for their 2008-2009 season.

Eagles Win AD3I Northeast Regional Championship
In the Championship game of the Association of Division III Independent Conference Northeast Regional Championships, #1 Newbury College Nighthawks and #2 Green Mountain College Eagles tipped-off at Green Mountain College's Eagle Dome. Newbury had won the first meeting between these two teams in January by 8 and the Nighthawks took the floor where they left off early in the first half stretching their lead to 9 before the Eagles began chipping away.

Eagles Claw By Finlandia
In the second semi-final of the Association of Division III Independent Conference Men's Basketball Northeast Regional Championship, the #2 Green Mountain Eagles battled with the #3 Finlandia University Lions at Green Mountain College's Eagle Dome. The game was nothing short of a nail biter as the Lions stretched themselves out in the first and took a 37-25 lead into halftime.

Eagles Beat The Buzzer to Drop Castleton
Castleton, VT-Green Mountain College’s Fabian Ferreira drained a three-pointer with just 1.4 seconds remaining to defeat Castleton State College 80-77 in men’s basketball action at Glenbrook Gymnasium. Castleton trailed 35-30 at the half as Doug Hammond scored 17 of his game-high 34 points over the first 20 minutes. The Spartans opened the second half on a 10-4 run to grab the lead three minutes into the second half, before Green Mountain regained it two minutes later, as the game would see 10 lead changes in the second half.

Hornets Sting Eagles
Lyndonville, VT - Cesar Martinez (East Harlem, NY) poured in 32 points, and Joe Visker (Essex Junction, VT) chipped in 27, to lead Lyndon State to a 99-89 upset victory over Green Mountain College.

Poultney, VT (Tuesday, February 12, 2008) - In an Association of Division III Independent Conference match-up, the Green Mountain College Eagles hosted the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers that would showcase the talents of the #1 and #2 Division III leading rebounders in the NCAA. They did not disappoint as they had seen each other exactly one week ago in Bennington, VT.

Eagles Rally to Win 15th of Season at SVC
Bennington, VT - A great intrastate battle tonight between Green Mountain and Southern Vermont went down to the end, as the Eagles pulled out a 83-78 victory over the Mountaineers in Bennington, VT. A close contest throughout, saw SVC head into halftime with a 48-41 lead.

Eagles Hold On VS. Panthers
Poultney, VT (Saturday, February 2, 2008) - In a battle that one would never consider by looking at records, the Albany Pharmacy Panthers came into the Eagle Dome with the type of attitude one needs to have for heroic performances. Despite being down 31-13 in the first, Albany Pharmacy found a way to send the game into halftime with only a 4 point deficit, 35-31.

Randolph, VT - Green Mountain pulled out a hard fought victory tonight, 73-65 over Vermont Tech. A sluggish start to the first half and some cold shooting had the Eagles trailing 39-29 at the halftime intermission.

Henniker, NH – The New England College Pilgrims snapped a five game losing streak beating the Green Mountain Eagles 87-69 Monday evening. The win improves the Pilgrims to 5-12 overall, while the loss drops the Eagles to 12-4 on the season.

Hot Shooting Sinks Eagles
Poultney, VT (Thursday, January 17, 2008) - Despite playing four games in six days, Green Mountain College managed to keep an emotional pace with the Warriors from Eastern Connecticut State University. Early in the second half the game was tied on two different occasions but the Eagles couldn't get any closer than two points down the stretch. Hot shooting by Eastern from beyond the arc (12-25, 48%) was the difference maker and often broke the back as Green Mountain looked to stack momentum.

New London, CT - Green Mountain defeated Association of Division III Conference opponent Mitchell College 94-83. The result came from a strong 26 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 blocks from Doug Hammond and 25 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals from Adam Fisher.

Brookline, MA - Green Mountain College was unable to overcome a slow start and poor shooting in today's 73-66 loss to Newbury College. Newbury came out hot, going 16-31 from the field in the first half to build a 39-26 advantage at the break.

Poultney, VT (Wednesday, January 9, 2008) - In a closely contested match-up at GMC's Waldron Gymnasium, the Eagles from Green Mountain found one more field goal that made the difference. The Colonials from Western Connecticut exploded for an 18-9 lead midway through the first half.

Hackettstown, NJ - Green Mountain needed overtime to pull out their first victory of the new year, in defeating Centenary on the road 73-70. The Eagles trailed early, and were behind 32-31 at the half-time break. GMC came out strong in the second half, building a second half lead of as many as 9 with ten minutes remaining in the game.

GMC Keeps Tourney Title Home!
Poultney, VT (Sunday, December 9, 2007) - The Championship match of the Green Mountain men's basketball Invitational Tournament lived up to it's billing as the Green Mountain College Eagles (7-1) played host to the Anna Maria Amcats (5-4). The pace was feverish at times and the sharp shooting Amcats looked to break the Eagles down. The Eagles' resiliency was up to the challenge.

Poultney, VT (Saturday December 8, 2007) - The second match of the Green Mountain Men's Basketball Invitational Tournament saw Green Mountain (6-1) played host to the University of Maine at Presque Isle (0-5). Green Mountain took the court with a purpose in front of a stellar crowd of 300 ready to play solid fundamental ball.

Paul Smith's, NY - Green Mountain jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first three minutes of tonight's game vs Paul Smith's, and used a 57% shooting percentage in the first half to build a 47-19 lead at the break. Green Mountain held Paul Smith's to 29% shooting for the game and shot 53% from the field including 7-11 from three point range.

Quincy, MA - Green Mountain bested MCLA for the second time in this young season, for the second time in a tournament final. Trailing 41-33 at the half, Green Mountain maintained their composure and battled back vs MCLA, tying the score at 66 all with 3:00 remaining.

Qunicy, MA - Green Mountain College pulled out a 2 point victory in overtime vs Eastern Nazarene in the Crusader's Tournament. ENC jumped out to a 19-6 lead in the first 7 minutes of the contest, and the Eagles fought back into the game, taking a 33-32 advantage into the locker room at the half.

Poultney, VT -Green Mountain college used a balanced effort to get past in-state rival Johnson St, 86-60 on Sunday afternoon in the Eagle Dome. Leading at the half 31-22, Green Mountain took control of the game in the second half, pulling away by outscoring the Badgers by a score of 55-38 in the second stanza.

Eagles Bring Home Hardware - Beat Out MCLA
Nashua, NH - All Tournament selection Doug Hammond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Fabian Ferreira (Queens, N.Y.) knocked down 26 points each with Hammond pulling in a game high 15 rebounds, as Green Mountain fended off MCLA, 91-89 in the championship of the Best Western Tip Off Saturday.

Nashua, NH - Doug Hammond knocked down game highs of 24 points and 14 rebounds and Adam Fisher added 23 points, 10 boards and dished out 10 assists guiding Green Mountain past host Daniel Webster in the opening round of the Best Western Tip off at Vagge Gymnasium Friday night.

Eagles Kick-off 07-08 Season
Green Mountain Basketball hosted their season opening kick-off celebration tonight in Waldron Gymnasium's Eagle Dome. The event combined with the women's team served as an introduction to the 2007-2008 season, and hosted a 3 point shooting contest, dunk contest, and fan participation shooting contests.
